FRASER Duncan’s side will look to equal Sauchie Juniors’ best ever showing in the Scottish Cup with a win over local rivals Camelon this weekend.

Saturday’s fifth round replay offers Fraser’s players the chance to move into the quarter finals and face Whitletts Victoria - thereby reaching the furthest point in the competition Sauchie have ever achieved for only the third time.

The initial tie at Carmuirs Park was postponed twice due to the sodden pitch before the game went ahead on Saturday 1 March, leading to an enthralling 3-3 draw.

It was a real advert for the Junior game as Collin Samuel gave Sauchie an early lead thanks to great work from Gary McCulloch and Alan Comrie.

But the visitors’ defence went missing for a short spell that saw Camelon go into half time with a 3-1 lead.

A great tactical switch by Fraser Duncan helped the away side back into proceedings and a David Winters brace earned Sauchie the replay.

The replay was due to take place last weekend but brutal rainfall undid all the great effort from the hardworking staff and the game was called off.

But the weather looks promising for this week and the Sauchie fans will be confident of finally seeing the game go ahead.

Players, management and staff are hopeful of a big home crowd to roar Sauchie onto victory and into the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup.
