GREENOCK Morton boss Jim Duffy was delighted to secure back to back wins over Danny Lennon's men after Ross Forbes goal sealed a crucial 1-0 win at Cappielow last weekend.

The Ton have now edged out the Wasps by a single goal in both encounters this season, but their gaffer has no doubt that the former St Mirren boss has what it takes to turn things around in the coming weeks.

Duffy said: “Danny Lennon knows his stuff though and both games have been incredibly difficult ones for us. They made it difficult for us at times and you can see they have a great spirit about them. So I am sure they will regroup and Danny will have them back firing on all cylinders again soon. I think overall we had the better chances and looked the more likely to win it, but credit to Alloa because they never gave in and pinned us back in the latter stages. Any points in this league that you pick up are vital, but we are delighted to have two wins from two against Alloa now.”

Duffy was thrilled with the winning goal from his former Motherwell midfielder that ended his side's own barren spell, but admits such quality was out of place in a scrappy and competitive affair.

He added: “It's an important win for us and it was great to get ourselves back on track. Like Alloa, I feel we have played well without getting results in recent weeks. The game was pretty at times, but it is all the more pleasing to come through a game like that with all three points. Ironically, the winning goal was probably out of context with the game because it is a fantastic strike from Ross Forbes.”
