HILLFOOTS RAMS BRAVE DISPLAY AT ALLOA.
ALLOA ....................19
HILLFOOT RAMS .... 14
The Rams travelled to Alloa with a strong young team but came up against a surprisingly
experienced Alloa side.
With Alloa shading the forward exchanges , particularly in the line out and rucks it wasn't long before they were able to set up their strong running winger who burst through to score for a try which was duly converted.
Alloa repeated the dose shortly after when they broke clear and went over for a unconverted try, despite a despairing last ditch tackle by Barry Munroe.
The Rams then had their best period of the first half , camping on the Alloa line until Davy Cree went over for a push over try , converted by Callum Chalmers.
Half Time Alloa 12 - Rams 7
Alloa were first on the score board in the second half with a driving push over try almost under the post which they converted.
The Rams then got into the game and Paul Bowyer made a gap which Barry Munroe happily ran through, Barry also converted his try.
In what was a finely balanced final quarter, the Rams had two gilt edged chances to go ahead but were unable to due to the wet conditions and a suspect decision.
FINAL SCORE ALLOA 19- RAMS 14
This was a very spirited performance with the whole side defending well.
Keith Heffer was making his Rams debut and slotted in nicely and James Stevenson took man of the match with a gritty performance.
Saturday we play Stobswell away and we should be travelling with the firsts so it will no doubt be an early start.
