Hillfoots ................. 16

Mackie .................... 24

Despite leading for 70 minutes of the game, Hillfoots couldn't hold on for their second win of the season.'Foots kicked off downhill and played almost the entire first half in the visitors territory, however a lack of composure saw them turnaround at halftime with only an eight point lead thanks to a Noho try and a Gregor Manson penalty.

Half time 8-0

Mackie started the second half the brighter and after a series of rolling mauls reduced the deficit. Hillfoots bounced straight back and scored a cracker of a try. Fullback Kenny Paterson fielded the ball in his '22 and set off on a mazy run which took him past several would be tacklers. With a neat offload the move continued through several pairs of hands before looking to have fizzled out in the Mackie '22. Quick ruck ball was moved blind with Duncan Arthur and David Harvey continuing the move.A last gasp tackle saw the ball stopped short but on hand to scoop up and score was captain for the day Gareth Parry. Mackies response was almost immediate scoring another unconverted try. Gregor Manson slotted another penalty to give the homeside some breathing space. With the time running out, Mackies experience began to shine through. The visiting forwards were making good yards with the driving maul and were using this to good effect. Two late scores gave the visitors a bonus point win and rub salt into their wounds the final conversion denied 'Foots a losing bonus point.
