Hillfoots 0-54 Gordonians

Hillfoots poor run of form continued with another heavy defeat this time at the hands of league leaders Gordonians.

Hillfoots kicked off down the slope and had the better of the opening play, however a lack of composure when the chances were there would cost the homeside.

Lineouts and scrums were even with both sides giving away very little. The visitors opened the scoring midway through the first half with a converted try.

Gordonians gave up a couple of kicks at goal, opting to go for the lineout instead.

However, for the first half the Hillfoots defence was looking in pretty good shape and eventually Gordonians elected to kick for goal to give themselves a 10 point lead at half time.

The second half was a different matter. After the initial ten minutes 'Foots defence was still looking good, but when the visitors registered a couple of quick scores the homeside's heads went down and the scores came at regular intervals.

There was some good individual perfomances from Duncan Arthur and Niall Mckenzie, but the teamwork just isn't there at the moment. Next up for Hillfoots is an away trip to face Mackie Academy FPs this Saturday in a 3pm kick off.
