IT WAS another successful night for two of Clackmannanshire's talented fighters on Saturday at Scotland's biggest MMA show from OnTop promotions in Paisley.

First up on the night was Calum Murrie taking on a tough opponent in Alex Budoiu from Dublin. In a back and forth battle Calum was able to finish the fight by TKO at the end of the second round.

This was Calum's 7th straight victory and his final fight as an amateur before he moves on and looks to work his way up the professional ranks.

Murrie was delighted with the victory and paid tribute to his team for helping him on the road to victory.

Callum said: "I would just like to thank everyone who came to watch and support me last week at On Top. I made hard work of it, but respect to my opponent, Alex Budoiu, because he's a tough lad. I Loved every second of it in there. Special thanks to everyone at Higher Level MMA, I really couldn't ask for a better team. Thanks also to my coach James Doolan the man behind it all. Thanks to Danny 'Boomtime' MacGrayskill for the regular PT session and doing my corner and also to my partner Stacey who puts up with me being out the house training every night of the week. I am really grateful as well to my sponsor coco5 sport drinks. I am on a really good run just now so I just need to keep the momentum going on to the next one."

The co-main event of the night featured Stevie McIntosh making his professional debut against England's Wesley O'Neill.

The fight only lasted 26 seconds with Stevie winning by TKO via strikes in the first round. The stunning win was Stevie's ninth straight victory.

An elated Stevie paid tribute to his brother for 'pestering' him to take up the sport almost five years ago.

McIntosh added: "Thanks to everyone who came to support me last night or wished me luck before the fight really means a lot. Also thanks to my sponsors for there continuous support. I got a late replacement due to my original opponent pulling out for a pretty poor excuse, but I guess it happens. I am just glad to get back in there after a year out with injuries. It has been a long time coming for my pro debutand I am delighted to finally get the win. I wouldn't be anywhere without my coach James Doolan can't thank him enough and all the lads at Higher Level DNFT. It really is a team effort and a pleasure to train with these guys day in day out. I'd like to say a massive thank you to The Crown Inn especially, who helped with training camp costs for this fight. I have to say a special thanks to my brother Craig for getting me into the best sport in the world. He pestered the life out of me to get me into and here we are four and half years later making my pro debut."

Both Stevie and Calum train out of Higher Level Martial Arts in Whitburn and three more of their team mates also won their bouts as well at the event last week.
