Clackmannan County's cricketers continued their good form with a second consecutive victory, this time over Linlithgow at the Arns.

It had looked as though the contest would be an exciting one, with the visitors directly below the Wee County side in the table and hoping to close in on their opponents.

However, Clacks eventually won fairly comfortably by a margin of six wickets.

The hosts won the toss and elected to field first, with Hefer and Ashraf opening the bowling. The pair started slowly, with the latter taking just a single wicket as Linlithgow reached 30-1. However, the introduction of Mehboob to the crease sparked a change in fortunes, and he finished with 3-26 from his nine overs after he triggered a collapse in the visitors' lineup.

That trend continued when Dolan took two with his first two balls, narrowly missing out on a hat-trick as Rasul just failed to hang on to a thin edge. However, Dolan bounced back and took his third wicket in his next over, finishing with 3-16.

The visitors were now seven down for a total of 90 runs, and Clacks showed no mercy with the return of Hefer and Ashraf. Both took wickets in their first over to take the total of wickets to nine.

It took some time for the hosts to kill off the Linlithgow revival and the visitors' final partnership slogged to a final total of 130 all out.

After the interval, Hefer and Dolan got the chase underway and got off to a flying start with Dolan hitting two boundaries, although Hefer was dismissed with the score on ten. Mehboob entered the fray and batted superbly alongside Dolan, with the pair taking the score over fifty before the latter was caught for 27.

Mehboob followed shortly afterwards, but any hopes Linlithgow had of a comeback were extinguished thanks to Oliver and Graham, who between them took the score to 86 after just 24 overs.

Oliver fell victim to a magnificent catch and was replaced by Rasul, who settled in quickly to take the home side's score over one hundred. Linlithgow could only delay the Clacks victory with a series of bouncers.

The match eventually reached a conclusion in Clacks' 43rd over, with Rasul finishing on 35 and Graham on ten as the home side won comfortably.

Next up for County is the visit of high-flying Murrayfield as they look to pick up their third consecutive victory.
