Gretna FC 2008........1
BSC Glasgow............3

BSC Glasgow picked up their first away victory of the season after a stellar performance over Gretna FC 2008 at Raydale Park.
Goals from Tom Woods and Gary Redpath put BSC two goals up, before Aidan Ferris ensured all three points were coming back to Glasgow after Jamie Hope had halved the deficit for the home side.
Robert Jones took his place back in the starting line-up, with Gerard Traynor continuing in a more advanced position on the left as Mark Adams’ side looked to move up the Lowland League table.
Gretna came out and held most of the early possession, but couldn’t carve out any chances and it was BSC who took the lead.
An excellent run down the right by Shaun Bowers saw him take the ball past full back Jonathan Blake before getting his head up well and cutting it back to Woods. The young midfielder, in space on the edge of the area, used great technique to control his shot across keeper Jack Leighfield and into the bottom left corner.
John Murray had the home side’s first chance minutes later, getting down the right well before trying to sneak a shot in across Joe Wilton’s goal, but the BSC keeper was on his toes to tip it round the post for a corner.
Murray had another chance on the half hour, but couldn’t find the target with his shot from 12 yards after Robert McCartney’s first-time ball across goal.
And Redpath made the home side pay just before half-time, after a period of BSC pressure. After Connor Casey cleared the midfielder’s chance behind for a corner, the ball was only partially cleared. Traynor had time on the left to pick out his man, and an excellent curved cross found Redpath to head home.
Gretna came out in the second half and looked to move the ball directly and quickly, with Adam Telfer coming into the game and using his pace to get down the left wing. The winger could have had a chance to bring his side back into the game, but Wilton was out well to stop him and gather.
Hope’s goal came with 20 minutes to go. After a free-kick, and then a corner, were cleared, David Reynard got another chance to swing a dead ball in and found the central midfielder inside the six-yard box to bundle home, making the closing stages slightly nervous for BSC.
Substitute Dylan Neill could have levelled but Bowers got goalside and took the sting out of his effort. Casey had an effort expertly saved by Wilton after the ball fell to him on the edge of the box after another Reynard corner.
BSC remained dangerous on the counter, however, with the pacy attacking force of Jones, Ferris, Woods and Traynor looking to get forward whenever they regained possession.
And that was where the all-important next goal came from. Traynor carried the ball into the Gretna half, before slipping Ferris in. A great recovery tackle from substitute Karlton Rudd wasn’t enough, as the striker kept his cool and slotted past Leighfield.
Telfer could have brought his side within one goal again, but his shot from the left side of the box went wide and the final whistle went to give BSC a great three points.
Now, Adams and his coaching staff prepare for some Friday night football, as Civil Service Strollers visit the Indodrill Stadium. BSC have faced Strollers once before, coming out victorious in the final of the South Challenge Cup in 2015.
