BSC Glasgow made an emphatic return to winning ways with a dominant performance against Whitehill Welfare.

A late Ryan Holms finish topped off doubles from Aidan Ferris and Riccardo Corrieri as BSC move up to sixth in the Lowland League table.

The visitors started well and came close to an early opener through Ferris and a Tom Woods free kick.

But the Whitehill keeper was beaten five minutes later, with Ferris taking his goals tally for the season into double figures.

Lewis Bell took the initiative, dribbling forward before piercing the ball through the Welfare defence for Ferris to run on to and finish well across the Whitehill keeper.

Both sides then had goals ruled our for offside before BSC extended their lead on the half hour mark through Corrieri who finished well across Bryan Young in goal.

BSC doubled their lead just after the half hour mark. Corrieri got past the backtracking Charlie Denton before finishing well across Young.

After half time, Joe Wilton made a fine save to deny Steven Manson a route back in but couldn't keep the home side out in 55 minutes.

A chipped ball through by Scott McCulloch left Healy able to nip in in front of the keeper to poke home.

However, that one goal cushion lasted less than a minute as straight from kick off, Corrieri got down the right before finding Ferris who was well-placed to header home brilliantly into the top left corner.

Corrieri then doubled his tally for the afternoon with 25 minutes remaining. With the Welfare defence pushed high up, Arnault Bembo stole the ball in midfield before dinking forward to Corrieri who converted while through on goal.

BSC were playing with assurance and style as full time approached. Woods, Corrieri and Ferris combined well inside the area before winning a corner, which saw Bell’s header saved by Young.

And with three minutes remaining, BSC youth product Joe Irvine came on and had a massive role in the fourth goal.

Intelligent movement from fellow substitute Holms, allowed the youngster the time and space to deliver for his teammate to slide home the fifth of the game.

Up next is another big game for Mark Adams’ side as they return to K-Park to take on East Kilbride.

Martin Lauchlan’s side have won 26 games on the bounce, with their last defeat coming to Welfare in March, two weeks after BSC also beat them at Lochburn Park.
