IT WAS another great night for local MMA competitors on Saturday with Jordan Struthers and Kunle Lawal both picking up unanimous decision victories at The Budo Fighting Show in Larbert.

Jordan Struthers from Alloa and Kunle Lawal from Sauchie in their contests

First out on the night was Jordan, from Alloa, who was looking to maintain his undefeated record against hometown favourite Graham Scott.

This was a competitive contest with Jordan, 21, managing to avoid his opponent's submission attempts and landing some strikes, whilst controlling his opponent on the ground ensuring Jordan was the unanimous winner of all three rounds.

Next up on the night was Kunle, from Sauchie, taking on Ryan Coffey who traveled up from England for the contest.

Ryan did well to survive the first round after Kunle, 18, dropped him early and followed up with strikes.

The remainder of the fight was spend with Ryan trying to take Kunle down with the Sauchie fighter defending the take down and getting the better of his opponent on the feet, ensuring a victory for the talented teenager.

Both Jordan and Kunle have had a great start to their MMA careers and wanted to thank their coach James Doolan and all their team mates at Higher Level MMA for helping them prepare.

With the sport growing in the UK it's great to have such dedicated young athletes from the area having success with a hope to one day make it as professionals.
