GAFFER Fraser Duncan enjoyed one of his best games with Sauchie Juniors when his squad broke the fireworks out against Banks o'Dee at the weekend.

The manager is “chuffed to bits” and now feels the team is back on track. He is looking forwards to the game against Armadale Thistle at home this Saturday, following a great result away at Abredeen.

Sauchie beat The Dee five to nil in the Scottish Junior Cup match up in what was anticipated to be a tough game at Spain Park.

Boss Fraser Duncan told Advertiser Sport: “We went up there, the boys have played fantastic, done really-really well and rocked their socks off.

“We seemed to hit them on the counter-attack, three or four times in the first 10-15 minutes and it worked well for us.”

The home side went a man down in 10 minutes, but the boss reckons it did not have a massive impact to start with.

With Flood and Millar scoring, Duncan's squad went into the dressing room with a two-goal lead at half time and were keen to finish the job in the second act.

The gaffer continued: “We came out second half and we've just been flying; we went and picked them off.”

He felt like they could possibly have scored even more, adding: “Definitely one of the best games I had in my Sauchie career - results wise. A big result for us and we put them out of the Scottish Cup, it was great.”

“It was good to get back on track”, said Duncan, who added the team needed to get results going again.

Next up is Armadale in the McBookie East Premier League at Beechwood Park on Saturday, kick off at 1.45pm.

The Dale is currently one point away from the very bottom of the league table, but cautious Duncan reckons the team will have to work hard again and transfer the momentum gained in the cup to the league.

He said he wants the team back on top of the table and put pressure on the clubs chasing Sauchie.
