BSC GLASGOW came from behind to take all three points against the University of Stirling at the Indodrill Stadium last Saturday.

A quickfire double from Riccardo Corrieri was topped off by second half efforts from Shaun Bowers and Aidan Ferris after Lewis Bonar had given the Students the lead within three minutes.

On an otherwise positive day for Mark Adams and BSC, they had to deal with the loss of Joe Wilton to injury after the goalkeeper suffered a broken collarbone in the first half.

Substitute keeper Stephen Barr came in to make his first appearance for the BSC first team, and would have impressed his manager in an hour-long performance.

It was the visitors who started the game the quickest, with Bonar benefitting from an inch-perfect cross from Rory McEwan to sidefoot home past Wilton.

The Students continued to dominate early, but were pegged back ten minutes later as Corrieri he cut in from the right and drive past Ryan Marshall from the edge of the area.

Minutes later, Corrieri struck again, taking on the whole of the Stirling defence by himself in the process.

The winger drove forward from deep, making it into the box before shooting low between the legs of Marshall to give his side the lead.

Stirling goalscorer Bonar had two chances at the start of the second half, clipping the bar once and being denied by Barr as BSC held on to their lead.

And Bowers made the opposition pay for their missed chances eleven minutes into the second half.

Picking up the ball on the edge of the box, the full back took a touch along the 18-yard box and struck across Marshall into the top left of the goal.

Ferris made it four ten minutes later when he beat the oncoming Stirling goalkeeper to a lose ball before before dribbling free and firing past the last defender.

The win sees Adams’ side leapfrog Stirling into sixth place, one point behind Cumbernauld Colts in fifth.

The focus is now on next Saturday’s away trip to Peffermill Playing Fields, where Edinburgh University play hosts.
