A YOUNG football team from Clackmannanshire has clinched their inaugural league championship with a dramatic closing day victory.
The Wasps Community Club 2004 squad sealed the title in style, as their season-long campaign came down to the wire.
A total of 17 teams contested this year's U13s Forth Valley League, which some strong outfits from all over central Scotland.
During the course of the season, an epic battle developed between the top three teams: Wasp Community Club, Stirling Albion Junior Academy and Cumbernauld Colts FC.
In the end, it came down to a final-day decider; however, the young Wasps held their nerve and saw off Dunbeth 6-1 to secure the league title in some style.
No previous Wasps community team has won the Forth Valley League, and they could add to their honours next month.
The youngsters play Dunipace Juniors in the final of the Richard Taylor Cup on June 10 at the Falkirk Stadium, with spectators are more than welcome and entrance can be paid on the day.
Meanwhile, the Wasps Community Club 2004 are putting plans in place to defend their title next year and are looking for sponsorship from local companies.
