SAUCHIE have been drawn against local rivals Camelon Juniors in the third round of the Scottish Junior Cup.

The two sides will meet at Beechwood Park on November 25.

Sauchie secured their passage to round three with a stunning victory over Largs Thistle, with goals from Darren Cummings, Iain Syme and Josh Flood.

Meanwhile Camelon convincingly beat Hall Russell United 4-1 at Carmuirs Park to make sure of their place in the draw, which was held on Tuesday afternoon.

The two sides have already met once in the Super League this season, with Camelon edging out a thrilling encounter 4-3.

They currently lie ninth in the league table, five places and four points ahead of Sauchie.

However, manager Fraser Duncan believes his players have a great chance of progressing in the competition and going some way to matching last season’s history-making run, when Sauchie reached the quarter-final stage only to lose out to eventual winners Glenafton Athletic.

Duncan told Advertiser Sport: “It’s a home draw against our local rivals.

“I can’t think of a better way to show how much we want to do well in the Scottish Cup by going out and beating Camelon.

“We know it will be a tough game as always but we want to go and win it.”
