IAIN FLANNIGAN insists Alloa are fully focused on securing their passage to the fourth round of the Scottish Cup when they take on Stenhousemuir on Saturday.

The Wasps travel to their local rivals having won their last four games, keeping four clean sheets, and the Wasps midfielder is aiming to keep that superb run going.

However, they meet a Warriors side in good form, having impressed as they beat Peterhead last Saturday.

Flannigan told Advertiser Sport: “We are looking forward to the game. It will be tough because Stenny got a good result at the weekend and will be right up for it.

"We won’t be taking any chances against them because they do have players who can cause us problems.

"But we will go in and control the things we can control. The main aim is to continue the form we’re in and get into the next round of the cup.

“I know it’s a bit of a cliché but you have to take each week as it comes. Things can change very quickly so it’s just a case of looking ahead to the next game. That’s what we’ve done throughout this good run and it’s what we’ll do again this week.”

Flannigan played a key role last Saturday as the Wasps saw off Albion Rovers, netting an early opener as his side continued their excellent recent run.

He said: “We’re obviously delighted to have got another win. The conditions weren’t great but we went about the game in the right manner and managed to get an early goal.

"That always makes a real difference. It gives you a real platform. After we went ahead on Saturday we were able to keep our shape well and pick our moments to attack.”

The midfielder was delighted to get on the scoresheet and revealed he is delighted to see the whole squad chipping in with goals.

Flannigan added: “It’s always great to get a goal. It was a good ball in and I managed to get a good connection on it.

"Goals have been coming from all over the pitch in the last few weeks and long may that continue.”
