SAUCHIE skipper Brian Morgan admitted his side deserved nothing from their weekend defeat to Carnoustie Panmure.

The Beechwood Park side suffered a second successive defeat after losing to Kennoway the previous week.

And the captain reckons poor defending is costing his side points.

Morgan told Advertiser Sport: “We didn’t deserve anything out of the game. In the last couple of weeks we have not been at it.

"We’ve not pressed high enough up the park and it’s looked at times like we’re out of ideas. We’re not creating as much as we have been.

“When you’re playing it’s hard to put your finger on what’s actually going wrong. We are losing sloppy goals which are so easy to defend.

"The goals we lost against Kennoway in particular were ridiculous. We have not been defending well enough.”

Morgan revealed he was also disappointed by the performance of the referee after he gave a controversial first-half penalty for handball against Stewart Houston but insisted that he would not use that as an excuse for their own poor display.

He said: “The referee didn’t help. I can’t see why he’s given the penalty because there is nothing Housty could have done from a yard away. His hand’s not in an unnatural position.

“We should have done enough to take the game out of the ref’s control and we never did that on Saturday. That’s the only reason it’s a talking point.

"If we’d done as well as we should have, we wouldn’t be talking about it because we’d have won the game.”

The midfielder is desperate to get back to winning ways this week as his side take on Bo’ness and Camelon, and he insisted that nothing less than four points will do for Sauchie.

Morgan added: “I don’t think anything less than four points would be acceptable. That’s the minimum we should be looking for. We’ve beaten both teams this season, so we know what they’re all about.

“We will get a reaction because when it comes to playing those teams, the boys seem much more aware of the fact that they need to show up. You always see players up their game for the big matches.”
