SAUCHIE have secured three new signings ahead of their first pre-season match next week.

The club have confirmed the signings of Darren Peatrie, Ryan Miller and David Cross who all come into the club from a good level.

Adrian Hanson, who is entering his third season as assistant manager at the club, told Advertiser Sport that they are delighted to get all three deals over the line.

He said: “Darren has played at a high level with Dundee United, Raith Rovers and then Stirling Albion.

He then got a new job which impacted on his football, but it’s one that we have been chasing for a while now. He is a great player and one who has a brilliant attitude.

"Ryan is obviously an old fans’ favourite and we seized an opportunity to get him from Bo’ness. Iain played with him before and he was very keen to sign back so it’s great to get it done.

“With David, he’s another who has played at a good level at Stirling Albion, where he actually played with Darren, and he also coached in America for a couple of years before coming back.

“He was extremely keen and has a great attitude.”

Hanson hopes they can bring in even more new faces, adding that the management team are extremely grateful to the board for their help.

He said: “We have another three or four irons in the fire and if we can get two of them in, then we will be very happy.

"We start the season on July 28 which is slightly earlier than usual so we are trying to get things done quickly.

“The committee has done so much to help us get these deals over the line. Any time we want anything they give us it. They have been excellent to Iain and myself.”

Sauchie begin their pre-season friendlies next Thursday with a run out against their Under-20s before facing Kilsyth Rangers on Saturday at Alloa Academy.
