MORE than a dozen Wee County pupils took part on a golf competition this month.

The 13 youngsters from Alva and Lornshill academies and from Clackmannanshire Secondary School Support were welcomed with breakfast rolls at Alloa Golf Club, where they were splint into teams and warmed up using the practice nets.

It was a dry and sunny day to play all 18 holes, but strong winds did make the course tricky.

The Secondary School Team Golf Event was open to all students in secondary schools and saw 13 taking part.

Using the stroke-play system, the pupils kept their own scores and enjoyed lunch as the last group made it back to the clubhouse ahead of the presentation.

Winning was the team from Alva Academy - comprised of Bryce Clark, Lewis Clark, Paul Murphy, Jack Wilson, Scott Brough, Morgan Black, Cameron Hale and Jason Foord.

Calib Wallace, Brandon Lee, Jake Grieve, Lewis O’Connor and Lennon Lewcio made up the the second team.
