FORMER Falkirk ace Conor Langton insisted he was sold on his move to Sauchie by Iain Diack and Adrian Hanson.

The Reds saw off offers from SPFL clubs to secure the signature of the 19-year-old talisman ahead of their first season in the East of Scotland League.

And Langton admits he was determined to get back to enjoying his football after leaving an unhappy spell.

He told Advertiser Sport: “I didn’t really enjoy the last few years at Falkirk, but I’m already enjoying playing under Iain and Adrian. Sauchie is just a better environment.

“I wanted to try and stay in the SPFL, but didn’t really get an offer that suited me. Sauchie always seemed like the right move.

“Speaking to Iain and Adrian, they were great and really understood my situation. So, it just seemed like the ideal fit.”

Having spent the best part of a decade with the Bairns, the talented striker was sought after in the summer and spent time on trial with both Stirling Albion and Clyde.

But, Sauchie secured his services on a one-year deal and the striker has started life at Beechwood Park with a bang after opening the scoring in Saturday’s win over Arniston Rangers.

He continued: “I know a few folk from youth football who knew about the club and they all said it was a great, family-centred club. So, I trained for a bit and played a few games and it all just felt like a great fit.

“I realised I may as well go back to enjoying playing football, which is what I am doing now.

“I do have ambitions to get back to playing at a higher level, but just right now I am really looking forward to a season with Sauchie.

“I’ve settled in at the club brilliantly. All the boys are brand new. There hasn’t really been a settling in period and I feel like I’ve been there for a while now. I’ve just fitted in perfectly.”
