Bo’ness 1st XV – 0, Hillfoots Rams - 53

On Saturday the Rams travelled to Bo’ness for their latest league encounter in buoyant mood after their recent run of good form.

The match got under way with the Rams on the front foot and took an early lead when David McCullogh finished off a move which swept the length of the park. Kris Illingworth added the conversion. It did not take long for the visitors to increase their lead when Jack McClymont scored after some more good play. Gavin Spowage was next to cross the whitewash for a great pushover try with Illingworth adding the extras.

The Rams had their tails up and were playing some outstanding rugby and it was only some stout defending from the Bo’ness players that kept the visitors from adding to their tally until just on half time when Spowage scored his 2nd try of the match to take the Rams into the break with a healthy 24 – 0 advantage.

The 2nd half continued in much the same way as the first with the Rams very much dictating the pace of the game. To their credit the home team did not let their heads go down and continued to make life difficult for the Rams attack but on this occasion it ways to be the Rams day as they ran in tries from Alan Steele, Jordan Usher, Andy Smith, Lewis Usher and a 2nd try from McCulloch. Illingworth landed another 2 conversions.

The Rams will be hoping to reproduce this form when they welcome Perthshire RFC to Tillicoultry next Saturday.
