SAUCHIE will head to league leaders Bonnyrigg Rose on Saturday with nothing to fear.

That’s the view of skipper Stewart Houston, who believes all of the pressure will be on the New Dundas Park outfit.

The Reds currently sit in third place in the East of Scotland Conference B and a surprise win in Midlothian would narrow the gap on the leaders to just four points.

Houston told Advertiser Sport: “We’ve got nothing to fear and there’s absolutely no pressure on us.

“All of the pressure if on them. They are expected to beat us but we have faith we can go there and get a result.

“They are a good side but we look forward to the challenge and have shown we are capable of putting in good performances.”

Sauchie made it five games without defeat at the weekend as they drew 0-0 with Bo’ness United.

However, it was a game in which the Beachwood Park side dominated and Houston admitted he had mixed feelings about the result.

He said: “In all honesty I feel kind of mixed after that as we really should have won and I think everybody who was at the game will have seen that.

“We just couldn’t find a way through and put our chances away.

“We did all the hard things right, but sometimes that is just the way it goes.

“They are a good side but we were camped in their half for most of the game.

“We felt as if we were always capable of scoring and I think over the piece a win for us would have been fair.”

It’s the first time Sauchie have failed score in a league game all season having hit 26 goals so far.

And, like his manager, Houston refused to show any concern at their profligacy in front of goal on Saturday.

He added: “Obviously, we do usually score and take our chances. So to not is unlike us.

“But, I am not worried about it at all and know we will get back to scoring ways.”
