ALLOA Athletic's Head of Youth Development Hugh McCann has achieved the highly respected 'Youth Director Award' via the Scottish Football Association (SFA).

It is the highest award in the SFA criteria for youth football and is a great accolade for both Hugh and the football club.

For the past 16 months he has been involved in training programmes, long term player development plans, pysiology, psychology, and - as part of the requirements - Hugh spent time in Croatia studying the national game and the NK Dinamo club organisation.

Alloa's youth teams compete at ages 14, 15 and 16 within the SFA Youth initiative scheme. The U17's and U19's partcipate in the SFL Pro Youth Leagues.

Meanwhile, the club awarded Brown Ferguson the Player of the Year award for his performances throughout last season.

16-year-old Greig Spence was presented with the trophy for Young Player of the Year for his outstanding contribution to the first team.
