IT was a good point away at Glebe Park against a Brechin side undefeated at home, but we are disappointed not to have secured the win that would have sent us top.
The game really could have gone either way, and to be honest, even though Jim Duffy's troops had the better of the chances, at 1-0 with 15 minutes left, we should have held on.
They almost seemed to get a lift after we scored, and our mistake was pushing for a second rather than being a bit more savvy and playing a stronger defensive game.
There were chances at both ends throughout the game. Brechin had a few more than us, but thankfully our keeper David Crawford was on top form, as he has been all season. Like me, David talks non-stop out on the pitch and between him and myself we keep the guys on their toes. The big man is still young and I think he has a bright future ahead of him.
Brechin are a decent side and for some a good bet for promotion or maybe even the title, but I'm not sure if they have the depth of squad to challenge for the number one spot. A few injuries to key players would leave them struggling.
And what a score up in Dingwall. Stirling losing 9-0 in the Scottish Cup was a shock and a half - it would have been a welcome shock if they were to repeat that type of losing result in the league.
Looking ahead to Saturday's game at home to East Fife, all I can say is I hope it is an open game. If it is, our offensive players are good enough to take advantage.
Beating Stirling's thrashing in the headline stakes this week is the John Terry story.
Engand manager Fabio Capello has rightly stripped him of the captaincy after his exploits were splashed all over the tabloids.
Terry has been portraying himself as a great family man. If he is doing that then he has to live his life properly - but obviously wasn't doing that. The guy was voted dad of the year in a poll conducted only last summer, and he was making money from promoting that image.
These guys are celebrities, earning millions of pounds in sponsorship deals and endorsements - if you are in that position, you must live a squeaky clean life.
For me Capello has done what had to be done. Captaining your country comes with responsibility on and off the pitch. Kids are looking up to top sports stars and they have to respond by living life properly, they have to be squeaky clean.
I feel really sorry for his wife and the children, but the Chelsea man will have to live with the consequences of what he's done. When you are in the public eye, the fact is, you are a role model, and you have to live up to that.
As for England's prospects at the World Cup, I don't think this will have an impact, it will have blown over by then.
Next week, I'll give you my reaction to the Cowdenbeath and East Fife games and tell you how I think Scotland will do in the qualifiers for Euro 2012.
