ALLOA Athletic went to the top of Division Two after a hard earned victory over Cowdenbeath at Recreation Park.
Goals from strikers Bryan Prunty and Stuart Noble secured the win that sends the Wasps three points clear.
Hit-man Prunty continued his impressive start at the club when he rifled home the opener from the edge of the box after 16 minutes.
And Noble doubled Alloa's lead early in the second half when he reacted quickly to keeper David Hay's save from his initial shot to net the rebound from close range.
The Blue Brazil came right back into it with 20 minutes remaining when Paul McQuade converted a Brian Fairbrains cross from 6 yards to set up a tense climax to the match.
But Alloa held on to extend their unbeaten run to seven games and claim top spot to the delight of the home fans.
Wasps boss Allan Maitland was delighted with the win, saying, "I thought we were the better team tonight and it is nice to be top of the league."
