I WAS delighted with our win over Stennhousemuir, especially as it was the first time we hadn’t conceded in the league this season too.
I felt it was quite a convincing win, despite the narrow scoreline, as we controlled long spells of the game and restricted the Warriors to one chance in the 90 minutes.
It has been a hard opening to our season fixture wise but we have risen to the challenge and remain unbeaten after three games - we want that success to continue.
I often mention on these pages how good the team spirit is at Recreation Park, and you’ve guessed it, I’m going to do it again. The fans will have seen from our performances that the players are giving 100% for the jersey.
There’s a real toughness in this Wasps squad. We simply don’t know when we’re beaten and have come back against Livingston and East Fife to pick up points in recent weeks.
This Saturday’s trip to Brechin City will be our third away match in four league games and we know nothing less than a top performance will do if we want to come away with the points.
Glebe Park has a tight pitch and Jim Weir’s troops had a cracking record at home in recent seasons - I reckon whoever scores first in this one will leave with all three points.

I know Chelsea have got off to a great start in the English Premiership but I’m tipping Manchester United to come out on top of the pack next May.
Their cage will have been rattled from missing out last season and I reckon Sir Alex will have them fired up to make sure that doesn’t happen again this time around.
In Scotland’s top flight, I fancy Neil Lennon’s new look Celtic side to clinch the SPL. He’s signed a lot of quality players, so I’m going for the Hoops.
Looking into my crystal ball, I see Falkirk winning Division One.
They may have lost on the opening day to bitter rivals Dunfermline but I believe the experience they have in their squad will see them crowned champions.
Bypassing Alloa’s division now - come on, it would be tempting fate - my tip for title glory in division three is Clyde.
The Bully Wee have some good players on their books and should have enough quality to win it.
Next week, I’ll give you my reaction to the Co-operative Cup tie against Aberdeen and Saturday’s game at Brechin. And with Scotland about to get their qualifying campaign for Euro 2012 underway, I’ll give you my thoughts on our opening fixtures against Lithuania and Liechtenstein.
