Alloa Athletic 0 Aberdeen 3
ALLOA'S hopes of causing an upset in the Co-operative Cup against SPL side Aberdeen were all but over after keeper Stepehen Robertson saw red.
The former Airdrie number one was sent off after he brought down Fraser Fyfie in 17 minutes and Paul Hartley made no mistake from the resulting penalty.
Alloa had been on top in the opening minutes and came agonisingly close to taking the lead when Scott Walker's header flashed past the post.
But after the sending off there was only going to be one winner and Rory McCardle doubled the Dons lead with a back post header on 38 minutes.
All credit to Allan Maitland's side second half though, the SPL table toppers only managed to add one more goal through Chris Macguire's long range effort on the hour mark.
