ALLOA boss Paul Hartley was thrilled with his strikeforce after he watched them dismantle Brechin 3-1 at Glebe Park.

Martin Grehan, Robert Thomson and man of the match Kevin Cawley all got on the scoresheet and probably should have added to their tally on another day.

The Wasps gaffer could not have been happier with his squad after a really strong team performance from his side at a tricky away venue.

Hartley told Advertiser Sport, "The goals that we scored were great, I almost took Thomson off and then he goes and scores the equaliser. It was a great strike from Thommo, he snatched at one in the first half or he could've had another but he took his goal brilliantly. I was pleased for Grehan to score as well today. He was unfortunate to miss out from the start today.

"I thought I would change things for some pace in behind but he comes on, shows his composure and rounds off a great team performance. Kevin was immense. I know that is what I get from him.

"He gives the same performance week in week out and he maybe doesn't get the goals that he deserves sometimes. He felt he should maybe have scored the one on one with the keeper but he works his socks off and has the quality to create things for us.

"I am pleased with the first four games so we just have to keep it going. We were outstanding today, I thought it was a really good team performance away from home and this is not an easy place to come and win."

Hartley was happy with the manner in which his team responded to going a goal down in a match that they had dominated and he feels that the win was such a boost for his squad heading into the international break.

Hartley said, "The players reacted brilliantly. They were magnificent today. The first ten minutes we had three really good chances but some of our finishing was quite erratic and we were snatching at the chances early on. Second half we knew they would come out having maybe got a little bit of a rollicking from their manager because we had dominated it and they definitely got a lift.

"They had a good spell for ten minutes, they got the goal and then it was about how we would react.

"It just shows you the way we can play football. That has been coming from us - the first four games of the season we have been absolutely fantastic and it has just been about getting the results.

"Today was great and takes us into the break in a positive note with two home games coming up. We will give the boys the rest that they deserve now and then we will be ready to again that's for sure."
