Alloa ace Scott Bain says former boss Paul Hartley should expect no favours when he returns to Recreation Park with his Dundee side this weekend.

The 22-year-old was a youngster at Aberdeen when Hartley was the Dons captain and was his first signing for the Wasps but the young keeper insists those loyalties will be put to one side for what is a vital clash for both parties. The Wasps are four points above the relegation playoff spot with two games remaining while Hartley’s men are looking to bounce back from a shock defeat to Morton that handed the title race onus to Hamilton.

Bain said: “I am not sure Paul will want to play us in a match where Dundee are looking to stay in the title race. He knows it will be a difficult game for them. There is no doubt I owe Paul a lot. I was his his first signing at Alloa and he put a lot of trust and faith in me, making me first choice goalkeeper at the club at the age of 20. He has helped my development in the game greatly. He did a great job when he was manager of Alloa and I’m sure all the fans appreciate what he achieved.

“But come Saturday we have a job to do. If we win, that’s Alloa secure in the league so all the boys will be up for it as they have been all season.” Bain reckons it will be a great occasion at the weekend and revealed the players are determined to beat the Dark Blues after running them close a number of times already this season without victory.

He added, “I will probably speak to Paul before the game on Saturday and it will be good to see him. He is doing a good job at Dundee although he will not have been happy with their defeat at the weekend. It’s going to be a tough game for Dundee and I’m pretty sure they won’t be looking forward to it. Dundee are the only top three team we have not beaten this season and we feel hard done by. I think we are due them one.”
