FORMER Alloa Athletic star STEVIE Masterton is no stranger to Scottish Cup giant-killings.

He was one of Clyde heroes when they produced that remarkable 2-1 win over Celtic at Broadwood back in 2006 .

Now the 29-year-old midfielder is hoping to add another entry to his scrap book alongside that fairytale day if Hurlford can topple League One side Stirling Albion at Blair Park tomorrow (Saturday).

It was the shining moment of Masterton's career as he played a starring role in Clyde's epic victory against Celtic - and turned Roy Keane's Hoops debut into a nightmare.

And he's hoping to upset the odds again by helping manager Darren Henderson's Scottish Junior Cup holders claim the scalps of the Wasps' bitter rivals, the Binos.

Masterton said: "Beating Celtic has been the highlight of my career and it's something I look back on fondly. I still keep in touch with a lot of the boys.

"It was Roy Keane's first match for Celtic, Neil Lennon was also playing for them. The whole team in general got the better of them and it was just a fantastic result.

"When people ask me about my career the win over Celtic is usually the story I would tell, But to be honest if we can achieve what we hope to achieve on Saturday with Hurlford it will be just as proud a moment. It was obviously a great honour to win the Scottish Junior Cup.

"I would definitely say Stirling have to be favourites because they are a senior club. With their manager leaving and a new one coming in you don't know how that's going to affect the players.

"But we are not really thinking about that. All we are concentrating on is our own game, trying to use our home game to our advantage.

"These are exciting times for Hurlford and we have got a lot of good players from the senior ranks, Stewart Kean, Neil McGregor, John Dempster, Ally Brown, Ross Robertson.

"But we also have a lot of good boys who have never played senior. We have a great team."
