Alloa Athletic is set to become home to an exciting project called Football Fans in Training (FFIT).

The FREE programme is set to start on Monday 14 September for 12 weeks ending on 7 December.

Every Monday at 6.30pm, men aged between 35-65 will spend 90 minutes getting to grips with healthy eating and gentle exercise with their mates at their local football ground.

Those involved don’t even need to be Alloa supporters; they just need to be a football fan with a desire to change their habits for a better lifestyle.

The 90 minute sessions will be divided into two parts. The first part will be led by Alex Brown who will give tips and advice on a variety of things including healthy eating.

Coach and Alloa kit man Pat Dunne will lead the second part. This involves moderate exercise with options to suit all abilities.

Participants will be given a pedometer at the start of the programme to help increase their steps and their general physical activity in their day to day life. As always, Pat will have loads of stories to share about Scottish football and will always bring a laugh or two to the table.

The aim of the game is to enable like-minded football fans to work together towards their common goal. It’s hoped as an every-day group of football fans the men involved will be able to encourage and support each other along the way.

FFIT is for men aged between 35-65 who have a waist size of at least 38” or a belly size of at least 40”.

This is reflected in the accessible level of physical activity each week meaning that no matter what the ability, participants can take it at their own pace and choose their own levels.

The whole programme is aimed at giving men the tools to make small changes in their lives for the better. It’s free, and the nature of FFIT makes it an inclusive, friendly, pressure free programme which makes getting fitter a whole lot more fun.

If you, or you think that someone you know, would be interested in taking part in this FREE FFIT programme please email fcadmin@alloaathletic.co.uk or call 07824439563 for more information on how to sign up. Spaces are limited.
