A HORRENDOUS injury list has upset Sauchie Juniors" plans in the run-in to the Festive fixures.

Their team coach Grant Brough said this week, 'We have had injuriies to Ally Letham, Chris Brown, David Hutton, Derek Currie, Faser Arnot, Graeme Crawford, Ian Griffin, Paul Shanks and Steven Learmonth all suffering. In all my years involved in the game I have never seen an injury list like it.

'There have been a lot of knee injuries but none picked up at training - all during games.'

The coach has praised the efforts of one of their former players - Peter Caproni - for his efforts to help the injured boys recover.

He said, 'Peter has worked hard to get the boys fit and I feel he should get some recognition for what he has done for us"

Peter Caproni, originally from Tillicoultry and now running a health and fitness clinic joined Sauchie in the late 1950s. He played in the same side as Jim Ireland, Peter Roach, Jim Scobbie, Jim Craig, Bert Hunter and Noel Dalli.

He later joined Stirling Albion in their Annfield days after showing good skills in the front-line.
