AFTER the celebrations had died down in the Alloa Athletic boardroom last Tuesday evening the plans were soon in motion for the coming fourth round of the Homecoming Scottish Cup.
A home draw with Aberdeen is in store for the Wasps on Saturday 10 January which promises to be a match worth seeing by all the loyal Alloa fans.
Alloa FC chairman Bobby Hopkins, a director at Recreation Park for many years, allowed himself a tipple or two of his favourite Russian tonic water before speaking the next day to the Advertiser.
He said, 'That was a great result for us and we are all looking forward to the Aberdeen match.
'These are good cup times for us so we must milk them. Brown Ferguson deserved to be named man of the match but I thought Dougie Hill came a close second.
'We think Aberdeen will bring in the region of 2000 fans down to take their place in the new East Stand. It is an all-ticket match and we will have these available for sale this week.
'I just hope we can now play in the League like we did against Raith because we really need points.'
Alloa secretary Ewen Cameron said, 'Aberdeen were telephoning me for tickets the morning after our victory over Raith at 9am so there will be a demand for them in the City.'
George Ormiston, the Alloa Athletic honorary president, who will handle ticket distribution said, 'Season tickets will not be valid for this match but season ticket holders will be guaranteed their own seat.
'Admission to stand is £17 (concession £10).
Terracing is £15 (concession £8).
Tickets will be on sale at Recreation Park within a day or two between 9am and 1pm, Monday to Friday or on matchdays.
Should the match be postponed or go to a replay, the new date would be Wednesday 21 January.
