IT IS expected Alloa Athletic will turn out at Gayfield on Saturday with a new experienced striker in their side.
The Wasps meet Arbroath in a bottom of the table clash in which both sides will be desperate for three points.
It is hoped the paperwork will be completed to allow the new boy to make his debut and help the Wasps go five league matches without a defeat.
Arbroath lost by the odd goal in three on Sunday to Ayr United at Somerset Park where the Loons had given a reasonably good account of themselves.
In the previous meeting between Arbroath and Alloa at Gayfield on 2 August, the home side finished 4-1 up - so Alloa have a score to settle on Saturday.
Alloa boss Allan Maitland was greatly encouraged by his side"s draw with Raith Rovers at the weekend. Although the match never reached any great heights, the point gained helped the Wasps go two points ahead of Arbroath.
Maitland said, 'When you consider they are top and we are third bottom, there was really nothing between the teams.
'Dougie Wilson missed our best chance which could have won the game, but our effort and commitment was great, with Pat Scullion and Stuart Noble both excellent'.
Maitland added, 'I think we can win at Arbroath because I can have no complaints about our performance against Raith."
After the Rovers match, Wasps midfielder Dougie Wilson said, 'That was more like us but we really must start scoring. I think we are in a false position near the foot and I believe we can win at Gayfield.
Dougie has now fully recovered from a troublesome ankle injury and is fully tuned up for helping his side to push on for points.
Speaking about his golden chance to find the net against Raith, Dougie said, 'When Stuart Noble sent the ball inside for me in the box it was a great chance but for some reason I let it go adrift. It was not a brilliant game but we could have won.'
