ALLOA Athletic"s new on-loan striker believes he can steer the club away from any relegation worries.
Brian Carrigan bagged a double from the penalty spot against Ayr United on Saturday and is confident he can produce more goals once he regains his full sharpness up front.
Speaking after Saturday"s 3-2 victory, the striker told the Advertiser, 'I am just delighted to have helped the team win because Ayr are flying high at the moment. It was a massive result for us.
'I am also pleased to be joining Alloa because this is the third time I have played under Allan Maitland - at Clyde, Hamilton and now at Recreation Park.
'It was great to get a couple of goals today and once I am fully match fit in a few games, then I hope to score many more times."
Carrigan has joined the Wasps until the end of the season from junior side Linlithgow Rose, managed by former Alloa assistant Brian Fairley.
Carrigan said, 'I really want to do well here and if we can get the ball down to play football then we are a good team.
'The thing about the Second Division is all the teams are hard to beat."
