Alloa 1 v 2 Peterhead
ALLOA spurned a number of glorious opportunities to secure all three points before conceding two late goals and the match to promotion chasing Peterhead.
The Wasps had two excellent chances to score in the opening five minutes through the lively Andy Scott.
Scott volleyed inches over from close range before heading just past the post as Maitland's men took control.
And the deadlock was broken after 27 minutes thanks to an outstanding solo effort by Dougie Wilson.
He collected the ball 35 yards from goal and beat four men before cooly slotting the ball past Michal Kula.
It should have been two early in the second half when on loan striker Stuart Noble shot wide from just inside the box with the only the keeper to beat.
And Noble found himself with another clear shooting opportunity soon after - this time he hit the target from the angle of the penalty area, but Kula got down well to save.
Peterhead were fortunate to still be in this one and they took full advantage when they levelled the game with less than 20 minutes remaining.
Substitute Konrad Kozminski turned excellently inside the area and shot the ball high into the net.
And minutes before the end Callum McDonald rifled home the winner to complete the turn around.
Disappointed Wasps gaffer Allan Maitland said, "We played well in the first half but you can't win games if you don't take your chances."
