ALLOA closed the gap on the top two sides in Division Two after beating Stenhousemuir at Ochilview Park.
First half goals from Brown Ferguson and new striker Bryan Prunty secured three vital points for the Wasps.
Chris Townsley's header found Ferguson in space with 15 minutes on the clock and he made no mistake to drill home the opener.
Ex-Celt Prunty then cooly slid the ball past Warriors keeper Chris McCluskey to extend Alloa's lead after 25 minutes.
The second period was a less lively affair with clear cut chances few and far between.
Wasps gaffer Allan Maitland said, "We had a great first half performance and I think bringing the new players into the club has given the place a lift."
