Alloa defender Scott Walker was sent off during this 3-1 defeat at Dumbarton.
Dumbarton 3 v 1 Alloa
ALLOA'S long unbeaten league run - which stretched back to mid-November - came to an end with defeat at Dumbarton.
It was a miserable night for Allan Maitland's side in more ways than one.
Defender Scott Walker was sent off and also picked up an injury, while Chris Townsley and Andy Scott also picked up knocks.
The hosts started brightly and took a deserved lead after 17 minutes when Ben Gordon headed home.
Dumbarton's Alan Cook doubled their advantage two minutes into the second half with a well struck free-kick from the edge of the box.
And nine minutes later Walker was red carded for a foul in the area with ex-Wasp Ross Clark dispatching the resultant penalty.
Stuart Noble pulled a goal back on 62 minutes but it proved to be no more than a consolation.
The Wasps remain in top spot in Division Two but they will have to make a vast improvement on this performance when they travel to take on local rivals and fellow title contenders Stirling on Saturday.
