Clackmannan made the relatively short journey to face West Lothian second eleven in confident mood after five consecutive victories.

West Lothian decided to make first use of a good looking batting wicket, but very quickly found themselves in serious trouble as very tight bowling by Ashraf and Hefer reduced them to 12 for 4.

Both bowlers claiming two wickets apiece and there was no let up when Silva and khan were introduced into the attack in the sixteenth over with their pace troubling both batsmen and slip fielder alike.

It is the first time in living memory that Clackmannan have had only two fielders in front of the wicket. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals with only two West Lothian batsmen making it into double figures and them being all out for 63.

Only two boundaries were hit in the entire innings and this is testament to the quality of the bowling and fielding. Silva finishing with four wickets for sixteen runs, Hefer three for 14 and skipper Ashraf three for 8.

The Clacks opening batsmen of Mehboob and Hefer were eager to stamp their authority on the opposition with Mehboob racing to 17 in only 8 balls. After nearly decapitating the umpire with a powerful straight drive for 4, Mehboob was bowled for 17. This only encouraged Hefer and at no time did he or Oliver look in trouble and the winning runs were brought up in style in only the 10th over when Hefer hit Kellet over extra cover for six. Hefer finishing on 39 not out off only 34 balls in an innings that contained six fours and a six.

A most convincing nine wicket victory for Clackmannan that now puts them second in the table at the half way point in the season.
