Sauchie ......................... 0 Camelon ....................... 2 The last time these two teams met was in the East of Scotland cup Final played at Bathgate.

On that day Sauchie controlled the game but their bogey side scored the only goal of the game to secure the cup.

The same thing was to happen on Wednesday with a defeat from their local rivals in a super league match.

Stuart Love, Iain Syme and Gary Bonnes came into the starting line up with Conor Kelly, Gary Currie and Bruce McAdam taking their seats on the bench as Fraser Duncan tried to find a blend for his young squad.

Sauchie made a bright start with Bonnes steaming down the left with his superb cross being headered just wide by Brian Morgan. Jordan Tapping then found space on the right and cut back to Gary McCulloch with his attempt from the edge of the area not troubling Ian Ure in the Camelon goal.

All the nice play was quickly undone by a goal and it came in a strange fashion in 40 minutes.

A David Grant run across the home defence through them into disarray with the ball played to the unmarked Jordan Devlin and his attempt at goal being redirected into the net by Stevie Dolan.

Ryan Millar attempted to bring Sauchie back into the game, controlling a McCulloch pass on his chest and moving in on goal to chip to Morgan at the far post with the keeper making a super block of his well struck effort.

Sauchie kept up the pressure with Millar finding McCulloch inside the area but his effort was blocked for a fruitless corner.

There was concerted pressure with Millar, Love and Morgan all involved inside the Camelon box with sterling work, blocks and clearances keeping them at bay.

Colin Allison has always carried danger against Sauchie and Wednesday evening was to be no different.

Ross Harkness blocked a right wing effort from Devlin with Allison sending the loose ball into the side netting. A rare miss by the lively striker. Steven Graham and Eammon Fullerton soaked up the home pressure and caught Sauchie with a sucker punch in 76 minutes.

A long free flew into the Sauchie ox and controlled by Allison who then looked up to beat Harkness from 12 yards out.

The home side kept going, but could not find a path to goal as their bitter rivals held on for the victory.

Sauchie: Harkness, Tapping, Syme (Currie), Dolan, Boyle, McCulloch (Kelly), Morgan, Morrison (McAdam), Millar, Love, Bonnes.
