Tullibody wrestlers end season with medal haul

Tullibody Wrestling Club's successful team from the Aspull Championships in Wigan.

Tullibody Wrestling Club ended the 2010 season with a fantastic performance at the Aspull International competition in Wigan.

The team of eight wrestlers finished fifth in the overall team event, the highest placed of all the Scottish teams taking part.

The wrestlers returned with six first places, two second places, a third place and a seventh place finish.

Corey Keatings (42kg) and Brian Harper (48kg and 46kg) competed in two age groups for schoolboys and cadets, finishing first in both.

Shannon Hawke (48kg) finished first in the females' competition and also collected the trophy for the best female wrestler of the day.

Arryn Morrison (50kg)was the winner in the minis group in only his second competition and Robbie Davies (28kg) was second in the minis.

Chelsea Murphy (58kg) took 2nd in the females' event, and Kyle Davies (42kg) was third in the pre-schoolboys' group.

David Weir (96kg) finished seventh in the seniors.

The Tullibody club has been assisted by Network Rail's No Messin!, and the club is grateful for their support.
