FRASER Duncan was left perplexed as his Sauchie Juniors side lost out 1-0 to Bo'ness United despite dominating the majority of the game.

After a shaky start that saw the visitors take the lead, Sauchie were by far the better team against an outfit widely held as a serious title contender in the East Region Super League this year.

The Beechwood club couldn't find a breakthrough in front of goal though and both management and playing staff were left disappointed with the result.

Fraser (pictured) said, "I'm gutted and the boys are in there gutted as well, we deserved more out of that game but we didn't get it.

"We've got to pick ourselves up, a few of the boys are in there feeling sorry for themselves because they did deserve more out of the game.

"I think it's the same scenario as the Camelon game last week, we deserved more from it and didn't get it. But that's going to happen in football and we need to learn how to deal with it.

"I think if anybody said we didn't deserve something from this game then they're clearly wrong. Bo'ness are a good team and they're tough to break down and beat, and that's why they'll be up there challenging for the league because they're rugged, they play hard and work hard together. Next week is a clean slate, we'll take the good things from today and put that into St Andrews." Duncan was thrilled with the performance of his players in spite of the result, but stressed his side need to start finding the back of the net.

He continued, "I was impressed with the boys, I thought they did very well. The work rate was excellent. I'm delighted with the guys and their performance but bitterly disappointed with the result.

"We need to start creating more chances. If we create five chances and we're not scoring we need to create 10.

"Our boys need to realise we can't give goals away, we need to go out on the front foot. We seem to go out and keep losing early goals and that's ludicrous in this league." The game was overshadowed by a horrific injury suffered by defender Ally Burns, who collapsed in agony with a knee injury after he went over with his studs caught in the turf.

Thankfully Burns' injury was far less serious than first feared but the defender's absence is a great concern.

Fraser added, "Ally has got great pace and that is a major worry for me with him being out. We'll just see how it goes next week. It was looking like a very lengthy lay-off when it happened but it did ease off."
