Alloa golf club once again hosted their successful celebrity golf day at Schawpark last week with all the proceeds from the day going to CHAS. Celebrities who appeared at the event included ex Rangers player Mark Hateley, ex Hibs player Ally McLeod and ex Falkirk and Alloa manager Alex Totten.

The tournament was played in very windy conditions, but fortunately without rain.

The wind made the golf tough as you were playing a parkland course with links golf weather.

Despite this there were some good scores recorded with the winning team have a score of 54.

Their details are as follows: Willie Kerr, Neil Malone, Angus Wilson, all members of Stirling Golf Club and the celebrity Alex Totten.

Tournament organiser Andrew Matheson was delighted to confirm that the total money raised for CHAS on the day was £7200, but that sum may still go up once the sale of two final auction items are confirmed in the coming weeks. Well done to everyone involved.

Alloa Golf Club would like to thank all individuals and organisations who contributed to making this event successful and in particular the main sponsor J.Chandler & Co (Buckfast) Ltd.

The organisers would also like to thank the after dinner speaker Bill Copeland for a very witty presentation.
