ALLOA gymnast Reece Dall has been selected to represent Scotland for the third consecutive year at the Celtic Cup.
The talented 12-year-old is one of only six boys in the Under-13 team which will proudly fly the flag for the nation at Cardiff in April.
And the sporting star, who was crowned Scottish Champion aged just nine, has plenty of experience turning out for his country - the first time he wore the Saltire was at the Celtic Cup in Ireland two years ago
He told the Advertiser Sport, "I was the youngest competitor in the City of Lisburn and going into it I felt really nervous, but I was happy with my performance and the team came away with the silver."
A year later silver became gold when Reece was part of the junior team that won in Perth. With the Alloa gymnast leading the competition, the team went on to win gold. It was the first time Scotland had ever won the Celtic Cup in all categories, and to win it on home ground was an added bonus.
The Under-13 boys team this year will travel along with the Under-17s team of boys and Under-13s and 17s girls' teams to compete in the six piece - floor, vault, high-bar, pommel horse, rings and parallel bars - competition on 20 February.
A week after Cardiff, Reece will be competing in the Under-14s Scottish Championships before heading for London to compete in the London Open (Under-14s) a fortnight later. He will return to London in May to compete in the British Championships.
Reece would like to thank the Clackmannanshire Sports Council for the grant he receives from them and his family for their backing.
"It really helps with all the travelling and competition expenses my parents have to pay, it is a great help," he said.
"I also want to say a big thank you to all my family and friends for the help they have given with fundraising."
The Celtic Cup Home Nations International will be held on Saturday 20 February at the Welsh Institute of Sport in Cardiff.
