Brother and sister racing duo ‘Team Tasker’ returned to East Fortune at the weekend for the first round of the Scottish Motorcycle Racing Championship.

Taking to the track for the first round of the season is always an exciting time and this weekend both Andrew and Sammi went out and had a blast.

Andrew went out for qualifying first. Putting in some impressive lap times during the session. Andrew brought his Kawasaki ZX10R over the line to gain a 3rd place grid position for the weekend ahead. This was just the start of an amazing weekend of racing. Over the weekend Andrew had 4 races, which were all high powered. Fighting closely on every lap with Michael Robertson and Roy Houston. On Saturday Andrew finished the day with two 3rd place finishes and on Sunday he finished with two 2nd place finishes rounding off an amazing weekend of racing.

Following the weekend action, Andrew admitted he was delighted with his performance.

He said, “I had such an awesome weekend. I am pleased with my results from the weekend. Unfortunately for all the racers the weather wasn’t on our side as it was really windy at certain sections of the track.

“It is so good to be back out on the bike and I am looking forward to a great season ahead.” Sammi was looking forward to a great weekend. Qualifying in 22nd on a full grid of bikes, Sammi was in the good place for her quick starts to get her towards the front of the pack.

Over the weekend, she managed an 18th, two 13th place finishes and a 10th. Increasing her lap times as the weekend progressed. Ending the weekend with a personal fastest lap time for the weekend of 1:04.054. Overall, Sammi was also pleased with her weekend’s work. She added, “It is so good to be back out on track. Having the changing weather conditions from sun, wind and light rain over the weekend made for some interesting racing.
