DESPITE the big freeze putting paid to Hillfoots RFC's fixture last weekend, the club still found time to celebrate Christmas in style.

The playing squad and club members gathered at the Oakmill in Tillicoultry to bring in the festive season with their annual Christmas Jumper Party.

The event saw a wide variety of seasonal apparel on show, from those decorated with lights and tinsel to club president Paddy Sherrard's value effort.

Local musician Kieran Fisher provided the entertainment, while Dav Binning and Alan Skilton served up a feast of Indian food for those in attendance.

Club captain Ian Nicholson's suggestion that everyone in attendance bring a selection box for the Gate foodbank proved popular, with more than 50 donated.

Mr Sherrard said: "It's great that our players and members thought of those in need at Christmas and amazing timing considering that The Gate had just run out of selection boxes.

"Hillfoots are delighted to help out this great charity and those in greatest need at Christmas."
