AWARD-WINNING chef Billy Campbell will lead a cookery demonstration at St Mungo's Parish Church on Wednesday, May 18.

It will begin at 7pm and the event will include a gift for all who attend, along with a glass of wine or soft drink.

Tullibody-based Billy is currently executive chef at the Glasgow City Hotel and his career has spanned more than 46 years.

During this time he has served the likes of Bill Clinton, Clint Eastwood, Princess Anne and Prince Andrew.

He has worked in many places, including establishments such as Gleneagles Hotel, Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, the Balmoral in Edinburgh and Loch Lomond Golf Club.

He has also secured a number of prestigious accolades and was named Banqueting Chef of the Year Scotland for four consecutive years, along with netting the People's Choice Award at the Craft Guild of Chefs award last year.

The demonstration in Alloa this week, which will see his interpretation of some classical dishes, will help raise funds for the church.

Billy will produce a four-course meal and three lucky people will be chosen at random to dine at the chef's table for each of the courses.

Tickets for the event, which is open to all, cost £10 and can be purchased by phoning 723984 or 219357.
