THE Orchard Care Centre held a special memorial day last month as they unveiled a new bandstand, donated by a former resident.
With the fanfare provided by the Clackmannan District Brass Band, the grand opening proved a fantastic occasion for the Tullibody care home on Sunday, September 26.
The bandstand was designed by Summer Garden Buildings and erected from Gavin Barclay joinery.
A number of memorial benches, crafted by inmates at HMP Glenochil, were also unveiled on the day.
One of Orchard’s late residents, who stayed at the centre for numerous years, sadly past away and kindly donated funding to help make it happen.
Mary loved brass bands, so the residents all thought it would be a great idea to build and band stand at the centre to complete the garden.
A spokesperson for the Orchard said: “We thought it would be a nice day to invite back residents families who passed away and had a memorial day where we had the opening of our memorial benches which were made from HMP Glenochil.
“The residents had a fun filled day out in the fresh air serenaded by beautiful music which was kindly played from Clackmannan District Brass Band we also had a game of name that tune. We also enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea made from our fantastic chef.”
