TULLIBODY Police Station could be closed and sold alongside another 57 buildings as part of a wide-ranging estate review.

The Police Scotland building has been serving an administrative role in recent years, has no front counters or frontline officers and could be closed and sold off as the force is looking to reduce floor space by up to 25 per cent as part of its Estate Strategy.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to the Advertiser: “Police Scotland is currently assessing its estate to ensure buildings support modern operational policing and are fit for purpose.

“By making the best use of property we retain, we will be more efficient and will make better use of public funds that can be reinvested into frontline policing.

“We are currently assessing our office in Tullibody, consulting with officers, staff and partners who use the facility to determine any future use or if the building could be instead offered for sale.

“There is no front counter and frontline officers do not work from this property.”

It is understood decisions to close any building will bring various levels and stages of consultation depending on what it is used for with stakeholders selected as appropriate for each premises.
