THERE was litter-picking, face-painting, healthy snacks and fun activities at the Delph Pond.

A spring clean and biodiversity event at the Tullibody spot welcomed a great turnout on Saturday, April 22.

Organised by the Delph Pond Forum, around 60-70 families and local residents headed along between noon and 3pm.

The area was given a good tidy with plenty of bags of rubbish collected, along with a couple of bikes pulled from the pond.

Janette McGowan, chair of the Delph Pond Forum, said: "It was a great pleasure to see our community and local families coming along to help out today.

"We were fortunate the sun shone for us and everyone was able to enjoy their visit to the pond.

"We'd like to thank everyone who helped out, Pauline the face painter and Tullibody Healthy Living for the food and snacks.

"Also Keep Scotland Beautiful for lending us the Poop Scoop Pup and Bayne's the bakers for the treats."

Around 40 children took part in the woodland quiz, which was designed to help children recognise local wildlife and animals.

Lots of prizes were also handed out to the winners before the end of the event.

The final activity was the sowing of wild flower seeds in a patch near the entrance to the woodland.

Grow Wild gave these free of charge and the youngsters thoroughly enjoyed this part of the day.

The litter-picking equipment was provided by Clackmannanshire Council and the community payback team cleared away the rubbish.

The forum has also pencilled in its autumn event for Saturday, September 9 with more details to be announced nearer the time.
