THE Tolbooth in Stirling has two great evenings planned for this weekend.

Start your weekend with a difference on Friday (28 November) by heading along to see Anais Mitchell, a storyteller of startling clarity and depth, and her support This Is The Kit.

The Vermont-raised singer-songwriter marries the intimately personal and the ‘big-picture’ political in her insightful, original songs.

During this solo performance, she will draw from her five acclaimed albums, including compellingly reworked traditional songs from her most recent release Child Ballads.

The magic continues on Saturday (29 November) when The Tolbooth warmly welcomes the return of Mr McFall’s Chamber, after their spine tingling performances last year which earned them a standing ovation.

Continuing the exploration of the fascinating journey of tango music, audiences move from Argentina and Finland to Poland, though they may reprise one or two pieces from the previous programmes.

And as ever, the music will be accompanied by Robert McFall’s delightful intros and for this year’s programme, Dancing Under the Shadows ,the ensemble will include pianist Simon Smith.
